At this time, you may have heard about some changes coming to the structure of our organization, so allow us to tell you ourselves what is happening with Experience Bryan College Station and Bryan College Station Sports + Events.
Under our current structure, we’ve been funded through a tri-party agreement along with the City of College Station and the City of Bryan. That agreement allows for a 60 day, written notice of termination, which the City of College Station executed on June 1, 2020. This means that effective August 1, 2020 our current funding setup is null and void, and as a result, the City of College Station will be absorbing our staff and will incorporate tourism into its overall economic development strategy.
We’re not going anywhere, we’re just going through some changes, and we’re still here for our community, our clients, and our partners.
During this transitional period, our staff is actively working with both cities to ensure that destination marketing efforts will continuously be realized. We are committed to being a resource for both cities in order to reach the best possible outcome for the entire community. Tourism has such a big impact on this community, and we firmly believe that it will have a leading role in the economic recovery to come.
Once our transition is complete, and we merge with the City of College Station, our destination marketing efforts will again be focused on doing what is best for the community as a whole while representing College Station.
You may see new logos and a new name sometime soon, but we’re still the same people. We greatly cherish the relationships we have with our community, our clients and our partners and we love bringing folks to our vibrant community, and that is exactly what we’ll continue to do.
